Upper Pines Campground Located at the southern end of Yosemite National Park’s famous Half Dome, the Upper Pines Campground is a great place for overnight camping. The campground offers easy access to the Merced River and the Tuolumne River, making it ideal for a quick getaway. There are two different sites that you can choose from when it comes to camping at this Yosemite campground. The prices are reasonable, and there are actually quite a few sites to choose from with the many amenities that make up this campground.

Lower Pines campground If you would prefer to go to the wilderness for your Yosemite National Park camping trip, then the Lower Pines campground might be a good choice for you. It offers both tent camping and RV camping, so even if you are only going for a night, you still have all the options you need. However, the campsites located at the lower portion of Yosemite National Park are a bit farther away from the park’s main valley. Some of these sites are also a bit closer to the wildlife that Yosemite’s famous animals like elk and coyote reside around.

Merced River Camp Resort This campground is right next to Yosemite National Park’s Entrance Way, where you can be on the fastest route to Glacier Point. This is a great spot for hiking and enjoying the scenery of the region. You can hike the trails to Glacier Point from this location, or you could just wait for a shuttle or take the pictures that you want to capture from the overlook of this valley. This campground is a very nice one, if you are coming from the San Francisco Bay area or Livermore Valley.

Upper Pines Camp Resort If you prefer to stay more near the park’s entrance, then the Upper Pines Camp Resort is the right choice for you. It offers all the facilities you will need when staying at the campground, as well as close proximity to Yosemite National Park. They even offer RV hookups to allow you to stay near the area for free, if you want to enjoy the wonders of this valley without the crowds. The campgrounds in Yosemite National Park are spread out, making them easy for campers to take advantage of.

Bridalveil Creek Camping The Bridalveil Creek Campsite is close enough to Yosemite National Park that it allows you to be within a half day’s drive of the park’s entrance, making it easy to get to, if you would prefer to go camping at night. The campground offers a playground, fire ring, fire grill, boat dock, picnic table, and hot tub. You can find pit toilets, showers, and bathroom amenities here, which is nice when you are closer to the park. This campground is another good choice for people coming from the Bay Area.
