Death Valley is a spectacular desert in eastern California, within the majestic Mojave Desert, just bordering the Great Basin Desert. The stunning red rock cliffs and impressive gorges are a sight to behold. In summer, it’s one of the hottest tourist spots on Earth, with many deserts in the Middle East as well as Europe and Africa. In winter, the snow can keep you stuck inside for weeks. So, if you love to travel and enjoy nature, you’ll probably be interested in exploring this place.
A perfect driving route is the National Park highway, which follows the shoreline of Death Valley. The scenic route includes a spectacular drive through the massive sand dunes. The route has moderate traffic, so if you feel nervous about driving on an unfamiliar route, it’s still okay. If you’re not used to driving through such beautiful terrain, you may want to spend some time in the national park, taking in the sights and sounds of the region.
For those who enjoy off-roading, the Death Valley desert can offer some fun and exciting vehicle adventures. There are several ways to get to the Zabriskie Point, but some are more enjoyable than others. One popular way to get to the Zabriskie Point is to drive east out of the national park. However, you have to make sure that you visit the start of Highway 41 in Death Valley. There, you’ll find a sign for “Zacadu winery”. This sign will take you back to the beginning of the scenic drive, allowing you to continue your trip through the red rocks and gorges of Death Valley.
Another popular route is to take the train that runs from Los Angeles to San Francisco. On this train ride, you will pass through the towns of Mammoth Lakes, Layman, and Redding before heading to the famous “Canyon Road”. By this point, you’ll be able to see the southernmost rim of the Grand Canyon. This is the most popular route for tourists who want to see the most famous part of the canyon, but it’s also the most expensive.
If you want to travel through the most remote areas of Death Valley, you’ll have to take a more scenic route. One popular option is the “North Rim Trail” which starts at the southern end of the Zabriskie point. By traveling along the rim of the canyon, you’ll avoid a lot of the crowds that are found along the “Canyon Road”.
The options for traveling through Death Valley are practically endless. You can do it by car, bike, horseback, or even foot. What you choose though, depends on your level of expertise. If you’d like to have some help getting there and experience all the wonders that this area has to offer, renting a car is definitely the best way to go.
