Acadia National Park is located on the rugged east coast. It is more commonly known as “mountain national park”. It’s one of thr top tourist attractions. Among its natural wildlife are moose, bears, whales and seabird-folks alike. In fact, the bayside town of Bar Harbor, Maine with its charming shops and restaurants, is also a popular gateway to the park.
The park’s boundary line runs along the province’s southern coast, running through Oak Bay and connecting with the provincial capital of Portland, Maine. Traveling between the east and west coast is possible by using the famous Cape Reinga Railway, which links Portland with Bar Harbor on Cape Reinga Island. The railway has three stations, including the station that connects Portland to Acadia National Park. The railway passes through several towns along the way, all easily accessible by car or bus. The longest railway in the world, the Pacific Trail passes through Oak Bay, Oak Sound and the village of Sauble Beach on the island.
A short distance from the station, you can hike the rugged cliffs at Cape Reinga. The path starts out using the rocky cliffs of the park. Just a short distance from the start of the rocky cliffs, you will see a sign for the Ocean Trail. This is an ideal hiking trail as it follows the path of the ocean path. It’s a challenging trail but well worth the effort as it provides amazing views of the ocean from the trail. It passes the Acadia Spirit Dunes and then goes onto the final challenging climb to the top of Cape Reinga.
Hiking the rocky cliffs at the start of the Acadia National Park hiking trail, a national park employee will direct you to the Ocean Trail. The trail continues along the rocky cliffs all the way to the top of Cape Reinga. Here, you will find spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and surrounding forested areas. At the top of the climb you will encounter two trails – the Ocean Trail and the Long Walk Trail. The Long Walk Trail is ideal for walking around the bay, where you will find wild birds and other wildlife. The Ocean Trail is also a good option if you want to experience the ocean without having to hike along the rocky cliffs.
Once you reach the top of the Cape Reinga mountain, you’ll be able to view the western part of the beach. From here you can continue your walk towards the Atlantic Ocean. Eventually, you’ll come across the charming bar harbor. The bar harbor offers several nice hotels, restaurants, bars, and other attractions. If you want to explore the local countryside, you can take a hike up Mount Kenya.
After visiting the bar harbor, make sure to head back to Acadia National Park. The park headquarters is located on Mount desert island. If you’re going to Cape Reinga, make sure to visit Mount desert island first. This is one of the most popular sites in the area, and you can visit it again.
