Kobuk Valley National Park was created as part of an ecological program managed by the federal government and the state of Alaska. This park is one among the northernmost on the entire planet and is also home to a wide variety of wildlife. The park comprises a large tract of land that is largely unspoiled, in spite of its remoteness.
Among the species that can be found in the park are black bears, caribou, mule deer, arctic foxes, wolves, rainbow trout, and lots more. Other than these, other wildlife include eagles, migratory birds, humpback whales, Canada lynx, and a few varieties of marine wildlife. In order to gain access to this national park, one has to obtain a driving license from the Department of Revenue of Alaska. This is one among the few places where you will need to obtain a license to hunt; the only exception being that sport hunting is not banned in the state of Alaska.
Among the most popular attractions of this park are the geothermal springs at Devil’s Tooth, which provide a source of warm water for drinking and bath and rejuvenate your body. There is also the chance to trek to the very top of Mount Erockit. Here, you can have a spectacular view of the landscape and enjoy the views of snow-capped peaks of the arctic circle. The waterfalls of Kobuk Valley are a must-visit site. Some of the waterfalls include Kobuk River Falls, which offers impressive scenes of water cascading down from above. This waterfall is also lined with exquisite rock gardens and pictorials depicting scenes of nature and wildlife.
For more of a feel of wild life, you can visit the National Parks of Canada to view moose, bears, and other wildlife species in their natural surroundings. In addition, the Selkirk Mountains is a definite must-see site. It offers hiking trails, viewing locations of the Arctic circle, and can even be reached by railway. If you love the look of mountains and the feel of coming into contact with wildness, then you will definitely want to go to one of the many national parks found in Canada like the karndean national park, or the kangaroo valley national park.
As for the caribou, you might want to visit the beautiful tundra. Although this place is not as cold as the arctic circle, it still offers a sense of comfort and tranquility. You can find lodges and cabins in the park, which is why it has been nicknamed the “Tundra Capital of Canada.” Among the main sights you can see in the region are the tarn, which are a freshwater copse, and the national forest, which are a network of boreal forest.
One of the highlights of touring Alaska is catching a glimpse of the animals that inhabit the land. One of these creatures is the caribou. Indeed, seeing caribou is a once in a lifetime experience since these creatures are unique in relation to other animals in North America. At the park, you can see different types of bears including the Alaska brown bear, which is the most populous in the park’s boundaries. It is best to visit the gate of the arctic national park to get a firsthand view of these animals since it is open to the public and free of charge.
